belongs to the party of His Majesty the King Zogu I of Albania since
1924. During the revolution he fought successfully against colonel
Bajram Curi. In December 1924 he was commanding the northern troops
against the government of Fan Noli. He conquered the Kosova region
and continued fighting to the end. During the famous revolution of
Dukagjin in October 1926 he was commanding the troops and was able to
put down the rebellion.

When Ismail Quemal Bej Vlona hoisted the Albanian Flag in 1912 at the
town of Valona and proclaimed the Albanian Independence, he was
nominated adviser to the Ministry of Finance of the Provisional
Government. He was secretary to the Albanian Revolutionary Band
operating against the Turks in 1912.

When the Bulgaro-Macedonian revolution broke out on the 5th of August
1903 he undertook friendly relations to the Balkan Committee of
London through the intermediary of Messrs. Brailsford, Baxton, James
Bryce, Major Simon, etc.. He was Sub-Prefect of
Daridéré, Tshorlou and Loulé-Burgas (Thrace) up
to the proclamation of the Ottoman Constitution in July 1908. He was
then Prefect of Senidje (ancient sandjak of Novipazar). During this
period the Austro-Hungarian troops evacuated the four strategical
points of the sandjak and Austria-Hungary annexed Bosnia-Herzogwina.
On the 7th of December he was promoted Prefect of
Sérrés (Macedonia) and stayed there until September
1909. He was then sent as governor general to Samsun and in 1912 to
Palestine. On the 28th of November 1912, the day of the Albanian
Independence he resigned and returned to Egypt until April 1913 when
he returned to Albania.

Since he was seventeen he took part in all the actions for the
independence of Albania. He was a member of the committee for the
independence of Albania in Constantinople "Lirimi Kombetar", and
director of the newspaper "Skumbi" in Constantinople in 1910.
In the Balkan wars he fought for Albania against the Turks. On the
occasion of the proclamation of Albania's independence in Valona in
1912 he was secretary of the temporary government.

was Councillor to the revolutionary fightings for the Albanian
freedom against the Turkish regime with the headquarters in
Podgoritza in 1907. He was a member and organizer of the Congress in
Trieste in 1913 where the President of the Conference pleaded for
Albanian independence. Together with the Duke of Monpensier and
Prince Albert Ghika, (on the war yacht of Duke "Mekong", which ran
under the English flag); he ran the Greek blockade in Valona in
1913.

was eagerly fighting for the liberation of Albania from the Turkish
regime as were various other Franciscan monks. In July 1932 he was
elected for the second time as Minister Provincial of the
Franciscan-Order Province of Albania.

In the war of 1912 against Serbia he formed a group of volunteers
fighting under the orders of Ahmet Bey Zog, now King of Albania. In
the battles on the Hartinesh and Priskis mountains he made great
sacrifices for the protection of the country. He took part in the
revolution on June 1924 with the legal forces and then he left the
country. In December of the same year he returned as a major and
commander of a corps of volunteer fighters against the revolutionary
government for the restitution of the legal government.

was born in an Albanian colony in Italy and he fought as an officer
in the World War in the Italian Army. He organized in 1911 the
Mountaineers of Scutari against Turkey and on April 26 was elected
their chief in Mirdita.
Ahmed
Zogu, Albania

His majesty Zogu I. in his early years has taken active part in the
public life of Albania. In 1912, with the grade of colonel, he
organized for battle his forces against Serbia and Montenegro. But
when the armies of the Balkan states occupied various sections of
Albania, Zogu I. was obliged to withdraw his forces and return to
Mati, where he organized the defense of that region and continued to
fight with Serbia. Before the end of the Balkan War, Zogu I. was
called to Vlora by the national patriot Ismail Kemal and there took
part in the proclamation of the Albanian independence as the
representative of Mati. Zogu I., in 1914 he also took part in the
government of Prince Wied, as commander of the national forces
against the rebels during the time when the Central Powers were
coming to Albania. Zogu I. collected his personal followers and on
the 27th of January entered Durusi, hoisted there the national flag
and continued his procedure to Kavaja, Lushnja, Fieri and Berati. He
then took the initiative to call a constituent assembly in Elbasan;
but this initiative was checked by the Austro-Hungarian army and Zogu
I. was exiled to Vienna, where he remained until the end of the Great
War.
