In 1907-1909 he became a member of the Hungarian Parliament. For provoking
the Slovaks against Hungary he was condemned as a political criminal to
one year prison. In 1918 he was sent to the Czechoslovakian Parliament.
From 1918 to 1920 he was General Inspector of the Lutheran Church in Slovakia.
Under the title of "Slováci a Madari" (Slowaks and Hungarians)
he published a pamphlet describing the part the Slowaks took in the culture
and history of Hungary.

He is president of the Association of Slovakian Writers in Bratislava.

He is much interested in the study of Slovakian popular architecture and
has studied Slovakian Art. After the breakdown of the Austro Hungarian
Monarchy he worked several years with the Minister for Public Instruction
and Culture and as Government Commissary. He is entrusted with the maintenance
of Slovakian monuments of art.

Before the war he was a teacher and writer at Prague. He wrote especially
on Slovakia. After the war came to the Ministry for Public Instruction
at Prague and wrote the first textbook for the Slovakian schools.
